The gaming industry will do anything to get its influence into our lives, home and churches – if we allow it. The following filled me with pride when i read it:
Britain’s first wedding to be sponsored by a bingo company is off (thank God!) after a vicar said it would encourage gambling. Suzanne Latta, 28, and Matt Brown, 37, had won £5000 from the Online Bingo Club to pay for the day but the Rev Tony Watts banned its logo from his Aberdeenshire church.
Way to go Vicar!! While some countries are banning Manchester United’s replica shirts from being worn in public because of the image of the devil on the club’s crest, why should the Church be displaying an image of the gambling (gaming?) industry on its premises because of money?
It is refreshing to know that someone perceived when to keep the devil and his instruments for destroying families out of the church. I wish more church leaders would recognise that its not just about the money but the message they send out when thay endorse any form of gambling.
Have a lovely weekend,
