Clydesdale & Yorkshire Banks Launch 0% Credit Cards

After the information i gave yesterday about the Virgin Atlantic Credit Card, i was checking around for some low APR credit cards that i can recommend in its place when i came across this:

Clysdale and Yorkshire banks seem to have kickstarted a new high street credit card war  with the launch of a zero  percent balance tranfer deal for 16 months. They are also offering 0% interest on all purchases for the first 3 months.

Andrew Hagger of product comparison website Moneynet.co.uk says the Clydesdale and Yorkshire deal is the longest 0% offer available now.

As always, here’s a word of caution: do not begin using this card for purchases – if you get it. The main purpose for getting it is to transfer high-interest  balances here and pay them off as soon as you can.

By getting a 16-month, 0% credit card means you need to target paying off at a very large chunk of the balance by the tiem the offer ends; and don’t forget to cancel and close you current credit card account(s) – to avoid temptations.
