Talking about giving – we may have the intentions to be generous but not everyone wants to be helped. The ‘help’ that a man was trying to give a woman in America has turned into a £60,000 lawsuit.
In a story that mirrors the film Pretty Woman starring Richard Gere and Julia Roberts; a property tycoon who attempted to ‘rescue’ a high-class escort is now suing her for more than £60000 after she went back on the game.
Robert Brot, 57, lavished cash on Lindsey DeLeon and even offered to marry the 26-year-old mother of two if she gave up her trade. She continued, however, to advertise her services as “Sweet Southern Redhead with Natural DDD” even though he had paid her to return home to Oklahoma.
There is so much someone can do to help others. As hurtful as it might be, the fact that someone shuns our help should not affect us in such a way that will make us turn a blind eye to other people who may genuinely need our assistance.
Remember that the Bible says “Give, and it shall be given to you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that you mete with it shall be measured to you again.” (Luke 6:38). You don’t want to allow someone’s reaction to your generosity dictate the course of your life – do you?
