This year, 2009, has been one of accomplishments for me. Not only did I publish my first book “Milestones of Financial Freedom“, i also assisted my sister-in-law, Nike Akinsulire, to get hers published.
Nike’s book “Marriage And In-Laws” became available today after its launch yesterday in London. There were testimonies by people about Nike’s character, faithfulness and influence on others; even her husband, Felix and their three children testified which was moving to watch. A couple, Deji & Marianne Lewis, did an incredible job of giving a world-class review of the book – using examples about their own in-law-experiences.
While we are on the topic of in-laws, Christmas seems to be the time when some of them become “out-laws”. If you are dreading your in-laws coming over for Christmas, help maybe at hand. A hotel chain is offering a special mother-in-law rate over the festive period to help reduce family stress. Holiday Inn is discounting rooms by 25% for mothers-in-law staying at any of its 194 hotels between December23 and 29. They may be responding to comments by Family expert Kisten Gronning who said: ‘Christmas can be an extremely stressful period with incidents of arguments increasing fivefold!!
I thought Christmas is supposed to be a time of coming together for families- and not one of “kicking your mother-in-law to the inn”. I always look forward to having a good time with my in-laws every years.
