My friend Funmi Williams held her now-popular annual “Let’s Praise” concert for 2009 yesterday at Kingswood Baptist Church in Basildon, Essex.
The event showcased an array of Christian singers and Musicians with their varied styles but all worshiping and praising God. I was really moved to hear TJ Williams (Funmi’s first daughter) sing. She exhibited a kind of musical maturity rarely seen in ten-year-olds. Funmi’s husband, Reg Williams, also performed a beautiful number to show that TJ got her ‘musical genes’ from both parents
I had the priviledge of backing (on the bass) my good friend Martin Adu from the Netherlands; he came with a group of young Dutch singer called the Happy Singers and they truly spread their happiness onto the audience.
Many other music ministers like the Levites from Manchester, Theresa & Gabriel from London came to grace the occasion. The event was specially blessed with the presence and services of Tosin Alao, a seasoned musician and record producer from Lagos, Nigeria.
All in all, it was a successful concert that will be talked about for a long time in Essex and beyond.
I know what you are thinking; “What has money mangement got do to with musical concert?” If you read my blog-post of 2 days ago, you’ll realise that having an income is part of money management. Using your God-given gift and developing it well can just be your ticket to the ‘big bucks’. Apart from from that i have been a music minister for almost three decades, it is part of who i am.

Great Piece Niyi. It was a successful concert indeed and thanks once again to working with us. Indeed it has everything to do with money management. You use all your talents and gifts to improve your income. I do have a ‘day job’ but have been a semi proffessional musician since 2001 in the sense that my music has been an additional source of income from CD sales to honararium for appearances at concerts and churches. It’s good indeed to broaden your view of sources of finance.
