Don't believe the 'Critics' – all the time

I’m one of those people who usually read reviews before going to watch a film at the cinema. This afternoon i went to watch “17 Again” with my boys. We have been having planning this before their Mum went on a short trip to Nigeria – so we decide to have a Boys’ Day Out today.

From the review i have seen on the film, i was expecting some scenes that i will have to dicuss with my sons later. To my greatest surprise, the film was good – even for me, no nasty scenes as described the film critic on BBC 24. This got me to think of why the guy trashed the film like that. To be hoenst if i wasn’t going to watch it with my sons, i would have discouraged them from going.

What am i talking about here? You cannot base ALL your decisions on what the experts on the media are saying. They are, at the moment, competing with one another to give us as much of the devastating effects of the financial crisis as they can; expecting us to swallow everything they say.

You need to decide what you want with your finances and go for it. Don’t let the ‘doom mongers’ keep you from achieving your aims. Financial crisis as happening to us all but we are managing or controlling it in the way that fits our final goals.  Too much “analysis usually causes paralysis” - as they say. The ball is your court.

  1. Exactly! As individuals we all have the choice of managing our finances in addition to many other things in life. One thing no one else can control for us is our thoughts. Its time for us to think positive even in the face of financial crisis. Lets aim for the best always.
    God bless you.
