Welcome To The Year 2009!!
Making New Year resolutions is something I don’t do any more. This is because they just go into one yEAR, come on the other yEAR and everything starts all over again. These days i set goals that will help me fulfil my dreams. I know you too would have started ‘working’ on the goals you’ve set for the year – if not, don’t give up.
While you are at it I want to ask you two questions:
- If you, as a person (with all your intellect and skills), were to be traded on the stock market, WOULD YOU INVEST IN YOU?
- By the end of this year would you be worth more or less than you worth now?
These are the questions i have been asking myself recently. Forget about the raises at work for the moment. If the j.o.b. (Just Over Broke) were not there, what will you be worth?
To increase your worth, you need to work to develop your mind, invest in yourself, attend conference and seminars fo your interest. Statistics show that the average person in the WESTERN WORLD reads only one book every year – some people read none!!. If you are to master anything, you have to be far above the average.
If my value is to have increased by December 2009, it is essential that I set some goals that will help uplift me from my current level on the way to my dreams. You have to be doing something that you need to master. Mary-Kay Ash said “Give yourself something to work towards – constantly”
What will you give yourself to this year? Something that will develop you as a person. If you do what’s easy, life will be hard but if you do what seems hard now, life will be be easy. In my own case, I am looking to the next 12 months with determination and focus. Les Brown said “You can’t stroll to your goal – you must be passionate about it”. Even when people tell you that you are good enough, try to do better – to increase your worth.
I wish a very prosperous 2009.
