The credit crisis has started a to burn some people’s pockets which may be the reason why more people are buying Lottery tickets. Ticket sales grew by more than £18million (7.6%) in the half-year to 27th September, according to figures by British operators Camelot.
About 70% of adults in the UK now regularly play the Lottery, with players spending about £3 a week on tickets.
This a a crazy trend - if you ask me. With the credit crunch beginning to bite harder, instead of trying to ‘put their houses in order’, it is just as if people are burying their heads in the sand waiting for something good to happen to them without lifting a finger.
“When the going gets tough, the tough play the lottery” is that right?
