The Adam Smith Institute think-tank on the other hand critisiced the comments, saying, “Many people who have not worshipped materialism have seen their lives made poorer”
I don’t think God has to specifically punish us with this crisis, it is the law of sowing and reaping that is at play once again. The banks sowed bad lending decisions, consumers sowed over-spending and over-indulgence and we are all reaping the ripple-effects of their harvest. How deep the credit crisis is going to bite is anyone’s guess.
