I read a story in the newspaper this morning about a woman who is still breast-feeding her four and five-year old children. When interviewed, the woman, Mrs Stella Onions said “It seemed silly to stop (breast)feeding at six months for no reason and it was so convenient”. She also said she is happy to see her children’s friends to see them at her breast. That would be like my mother being happy for my friends to see her give me pocket-money at the age of 30 or 35!! No Way!!!
Milk is for babies, as they grow older they start taking more and more solid food including juicy steaks, boney chicken etc.
Financially speaking, children should be trained to aim to become financially independent at some stage in their lives. Minor chores around the house may be how they’ll start earning something for themselves. Paper-rounds, mowing lawns etc come later and then on to vacation jobs until they graduate and start working full-time.
By that time they would have been trained to know there is time for everything according to the Bible (Ecclestiastis 3:1). A time to depend on Mum & Dad for money and a time to be their own man/woman financially.

Yes, children need to know more about saving at an early age and not leaving it too late. We need to learn to say “no” to their unnecessary requests and make them save up. Thanks a million for this blog and i pray God will help us in bringing up our children well groomed and not financially pampered.
